# Branches

**Branches** are your practice locations. Much of what you manage—especially **patients**, **dentists**, and **sales**—depends on picking the right branch in the header.

### Selecting a branch

Use the branch control at the **top of the screen**. Leaving it unset can empty lists or prompt you to pick a branch first (for example before **Treatment Records**).

### Managing branches

Go to **Branches** in the sidebar to **add**, **rename**, **review**, or **edit** locations.

### How many branches your plan allows

* **Free** — **one** branch
* **Starter** — **up to three** branches
* **Growth** and **Enterprise** — **unlimited** branches (fair, normal use for your organization)

If you hit a limit, **Subscription & Billing** explains how to upgrade, or you can archive locations you no longer use per your office policy.
